  1. Due to my guitar roots being mostly jazz I resisted the use of a capo because I thought of it as a crutch.

    As I grew older (wiser ?) I began to find the sonic qualities the capo brings to open strings.

    The biggest hill I had to climbwith the capo is that even though is placed @ the 2nd fret the remainder of the fret board remains the same ( ie. capo @ 2nd fret, the 12th fret is still pitched as EADGBE).

    Anyway, find a low cost capo for your first one and experiment untill you find your “cup of tea.”
