  1. Lisa,

Hi. I would be interested in your Beta testing for your guitar theory course.

I am, at least in SOME ways, am an advanced player. I’ve studied with John Stropes (www.stropes.com) who invented a notation system for Michael Hedges’ music. However, I have the background of a lot of steel-stringers: my HANDS are far better than my HEAD, and, embarrassingly, even a great deal better than my ear. Given those limitations, I can play some difficult material, quite precisely (yet with feeling.) Hah.

So, I’m beginning THE RECKONING: the part where I open myself up to certain fundamental aspects of music that I was previously too impatient to learn before. That will include ear training, theory, and at least some sight reading.

I think/hope I would be a good candidate for your beta test. Please let me know if you think so, and I’ll even put my guitars back in standard tuning as a show of good faith!

    Sincerely,

    Brett Anthony Smith
